Look What's Missing...FINALLY!

Well, we were changing Caleb's diaper this morning and when we unsnapped his pjs we discovered that FINALLY his umbilical cord was 99% off. Aaron gently removed it all the way so now we can actually see his belly button and we don't have to worry about keeping his diapers below it, etc. Here's a picture of our big boy, sans his cord:

Yesterday afternoon Caleb got to meet his friend Adalie (my friend Kim's little girl). It is funny because in her pictures, Adalie has always seemed little but when we put them next to each other in the pack-n-play, she made Caleb look tiny. She is about 3 months older than Caleb and it was fun to see how alert and interactive Caleb will be by this spring.

The other big news is that I have a new vehicle!! After driving the Escape for 5+ years, I have upgraded to a Volvo XC90. It is very nice and has a great smooth ride. I haven't taken any pictures because it's been raining but here's a link to one on the Volvo website. Mine is the metallic silver, in case the link doesn't show the right color. It is definitely a "mom" car but is super safe and fun to drive.

Also, Caleb and I visited the chiropractor today. Several people had recommended that his fussiness might be helped by being adjusted. the doctor did a great job adjusting him and also did some tissue massage on his abdominal area to help relieve tension. She showed me how to do the massage so hopefully that will help some of his digestive problems. She adjusted me too, which always feels wonderful.

Aaron's parents were going to come in town this weekend but they woke up to quite a snowfall this morning so are staying put in the Panhandle. We will now spend the weekend putting away Christmas decorations (I'll try to remember to take and post a picture of my gorgeous tree and all it's Old World ornaments that I am addicted to) and just catching up on sleep (pending Caleb's cooperation, of course). Enjoy your long weekend and Happy 2007 if I don't post again before Monday.

PS- GO SOONERS!!!!!

Congrats on the new car-so nice!!! Are you saving the belly button?
Caleb was sooo precious-thank you so much for letting us come see him! I couldn't get over how big Adalie looked compared to him, too...until we met Marilyn's baby-who is one day older than Adalie and about 5 pounds bigger! But it is already hard to remember she was ever as tiny as Caleb. I can't wait to see how Betsy's pics of him turned out!
